Red Dress Gala & Fashion Show

This year’s Red Dress Gala & Fashion Show will be taking place Wednesday February 13, 2013 at Stereo Nightclub, and tickets will only be available until JANUARY 31, 2013. This event is being organized in the efforts to raise a sizeable donation for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba (HSFM), and is being hosted as an official HSFM Live Red event.

The theme of the evening in addition to Red Dress is Chocolate Covered Strawberries. Studies show that chocolate, especially dark chocolate, is great for the cardiovascular system because the coco beans are full of natural antioxidants and plant nutrients. It has also been proven that dark chocolate can help with the reduction of a high blood pressure, and can be a great mood enhancer. Strawberries have many phytochemicals and antioxidants that help prevent joint inflammation that can sometimes lead to heart disease. Adding strawberries to your diet can help lower your cholesterol, paving the way for a healthier heart. 

The fashion show portion of the evening will feature the work of Winnipeg designers, Andrea Pelletier, Alanna Tinsley-Roy, Francine and Lili of Bi.polar Couture, Dee Karpa, and Shannon Klymchuk, store owner of Divine and Conquer. In addition to designing a red dress for the show, each designer will be contributing a variety of garments that best represent their brand.

The evening will be hosted by Adam West from Virgin Radio, and will include hors d'oeuvres, silent auction, and a chance to make a difference, one heart beat at a time.
